Comparisons

Compare the options honestly

Every comparison and alternatives guide in one place, including the cases where a different product is the better buy.

The short version

Software in this category comes in two shapes. Rental-first platforms model an equipment order with dates and are strongest at conflict detection, tracking hardware and multi-warehouse planning. Production-first platforms model a job, and treat the equipment order as one output of it alongside crew, schedule, files and the client relationship.

A rental house usually wants the first. A production company usually ends up keeping a second system if it buys the first and nothing else. Flightcase is the second shape, in open beta, with bundled pricing.

Test it on a job you already ran

Trials fail when they are run on an invented job. Use a real one, ideally the one that changed twice after the client approved it, and work through these five steps in every product on your shortlist.

Questions buyers ask

Which event production software is best?
It depends on which failure you are buying to remove. If it is mature automatic equipment conflict detection across many jobs, RFID, or several warehouses, an established rental platform is the safer choice. If it is rebuilding the job after the client approves it, crew chasing that lives in messaging apps, or a warehouse working from printouts, a production-first platform like Flightcase is the closer fit.
How should we run a fair comparison?
Use one real job that changed after the client approved it, not a made-up one. Rebuild the quote with your actual discount structure, revise it post-approval and see what the client link shows, push it into a show record and a pull sheet, then raise the invoice and check the discounts survived. Count the retyping. That number separates products; a feature grid does not.
Is Flightcase biased in these comparisons?
We make Flightcase, so yes, we have an interest. The rules we hold to are on the about page: every comparison names the cases where the other product is the better buy, we link competitors to their own pages rather than quoting prices that move, and we say plainly that Flightcase is in open beta wherever that is the relevant tradeoff.
