What is production calendar software?
A shared timeline of everything an operation has committed to across dates: confirmed shows, provisional holds, crew calls and equipment commitments. The point is that provisional and confirmed work appear together, because the dates you are holding for an unsigned client are the ones most likely to be sold twice.
How is a hold different from a booking?
A hold is a pencil. It marks dates as spoken for while a job is still being discussed, without creating a confirmed booking or committing gear as though the work is won. In Flightcase a hold can span several dates, can become a quote, and stays live until the job is confirmed or the dates are released.
Can people outside the workspace see the calendar?
There is an ICS feed people can subscribe to in the calendar application they already use, so a freelancer or a partner follows the schedule without a workspace seat and without anyone emailing a fresh export. What a given person can see still follows their permissions.
Does the calendar show equipment conflicts?
Gear commitments are attached to the shows and dates that created them, so overlapping demand is visible against the job rather than living in a separate spreadsheet. Fully automatic cross-show conflict alerting is a planned area rather than something we claim today; if that specific behaviour is your deciding requirement, test it directly before choosing.
Is this separate from crew scheduling?
They answer different questions. The calendar is about time and what is committed when. Crew scheduling is about who is available and who is booked, which is a decision about people. Most teams use both, and Flightcase keeps availability deliberately distinct from a confirmed call.
